History
Dennis Cannon started spinning in a Peoria, IL teen club called Stage 2 in the late 80's. Soon the chain added a new club in Bettendorf, IA and Dennis relocated. He stayed with Stage 2 as Program Director over the next 5 years, overseeing the five clubs in Peoria, Springfield, Galesburg, Osh Kosh and Bettendorf. In 1991 Dennis became Program Director for the Peoria dance club Nightfaces. This started a long relationship with it's parent company Club Management Inc. Over the next 13 years CMI opened three teen clubs under the names of Sneakers, Off Limits and The Factory. They also found time to open two nightclub/bars called Vic Ferrari's and Stars & Stripes in Davenport, IA. All the clubs had a capacity of 1000 to 2000 which gave Dennis a chance to bring in and spin with acts such as Richard "Humpty" Vission, Cajmere/Green Velvet, DJ Funk, Bobby D, DJ Bam Bam and many many more. By now, Dennis had adapted the name DJ Cannon (when your radio drops come back from the station with DJ Cannon you roll with it). Dennis has hosted many radio shows on the areas top 40 stations including Klubtraxx on B100 and Club 989 on All Hit 98.9. If you lived in the area you might have also caught him mixing on the Fox 18 TV show XDP. In 2003 CMI closed the doors to it's operations. DJ Cannon continued to put out mix after mix on Club 989 and is found spinning occasionally for College Nights and Special Events.
